Il Nascondiglio di Bacco (Bacchus Hide-Out) was built over 500 years ago. It has undergone total restoration in 2003 with great respect for its past farm house character and local tradition, while retaining its ancient charm. When possible, old brick walls have been exposed, together with beamed, vaulted ceilings. The house sits on top of a small hill, a perfect location to take in a breathtaking and uninterrupted view of the surroundings. At all seasons and all weathers, the scenery is spectacular, almost magical. The air is fragrant with rosemary and bay leaves.

Offida: with its Santa Maria della Rocca Church, an imposing 14th century Romanesque-Gothic building hanging from a cliff.

Ascoli Piceno: the provincial capital rich in Picene & Roman ruins with medieval winding streets described as one of the most pleasant towns in Italy to explore on foot. Nearby Castel Trosino.

Ripatransone: the belvedere of the Piceno.

Recanati: home of famous Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi and world known tenor Beniamino Gigli.

Civitella: medieval fortress.

Urbino: birthplace of the painter Raphael, a center of learning & culture, home to the small but distinguished Universita de Urbino.

Loreto: one of the world’s best loved shrines, the Santuario della Santa Casa (House of Virgin Mary), within the Basilica, built in 1468.

HOW TO GET THERE

Bacchus Hideout is located in Offida. A quaint, small medieval town of approx. 5,000 inhabitants, 110 km (68 miles) from Falconara Airport, Ancona – Le Marche Region. The ride offers a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea. From Rome (Fiumicino Airport) it is all highway except for 15km, you will reach destination in approx 3 hours. Could be less if you drive like an Italian but it is not recommended. Taking the train from Rome Airport is also an option.
